Feline Diabetes Mellitus occurs in cats of all breeds, ages, and genders, though it is more prevalent in older, male and obese cats. Feline Diabetes Mellitus is a failure of a cat's pancreas to regulate blood sugar. There are two types of Diabetes Mellitus, Type I (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) and Type I I (Non- Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus, the most common form of diabetes in cats).
