Though uncommon in cats, the first signs of ITP may be bruising or tiny, pinpoint reddish areas caused by bleeding of the skin without any other signs of disease.
Blood in the urine and severe anemia can be follow-up symptoms. ITP is diagnosed on the basis of low platelet counts.
