Cat > Panleukopenia (Distemper)
Information
Feline Panleukopenia (also called feline distemper) is the most common infectious cause of death in cats.
Cats are infected by contact with the saliva of infected cats, usually through grooming or biting (and possibly through flea bites).
Feline Panleukopenia can infect cats of any age, but high-risk groups include multi-cat households, breeding farm cats, outdoor cats, un-neutered cats, and of course unvaccinated cats.
Signs of the illness often-times will include lose of appetite, lethargy, and vomiting, with later diarrhea.
